Thighs can achieve a more pleasing shape. This procedure along with buttock reduction are operations not so commonly performed since liposuction was introduced. Nevertheless, in selected patients a thigh/buttock reduction can remove large amounts of loose skin and fat to achieve a more pleasing appearance of this area.
Liposculpture is an excellent technique for reshaping fatty prominences in the body. The common areas for this procedure are the hips, thighs and buttocks, the abdomen and lower legs around the ankles.
Liposculpture is best performed when a patient is at normal body weight with fatty prominences which are unresponsive to weight loss. Liposculpture can achieve a very pleasing result in these circumstances. Minimal scarring is an added advantage to this technique.

A breast reduction is an operation designed to diminish both the size of large breasts and also reshape the breasts to have a more flattering appearance. Breasts are often different from side to side in shape and cup size and this can be adjusted at the time of surgery to provide breasts which are smaller and approximately the same size.
A breast augmentation is an operation which increases the size of the breast by inserting a breast implants (prostheses) which are generally silicone gel-filled or salt water-filled (saline) implants. They are positioned in a pocket within the breast, usually under the muscle but sometimes in front of the muscle between the breast tissue and the muscle. Implants come in many shapes and sizes and can be selected to provide a larger, more flattering bust.
Excessive skin and fat in the upper arms (bat wings) can be corrected by surgical removal of tissue. Bat wing deformity (tuckshop arms) can result from loss of weight. Many women are embarrassed by this problem with their appearance and seek advice.
Abdominoplasty is a procedure to reshape the abdominal wall and achieve a flatter tummy by tightening muscles and removing excess skin and fat. After childbirth in women, abdominal muscles are stretched and frequently separated by a gap which can be felt in the mid-line between muscles.
A breast reconstruction is most commonly performed after cancer surgery such as mastectomy or, sometimes, after the removal of a breast lump. Breast reconstruction is performed to gain a more natural appearance and restore confidence following these procedures.
Droopy breasts are a common accompaniment of breast feeding after children. Some women have ptotic (droopy) breasts without having had children. A breast lift (tuck or mastopexy) can be used to give the breast a more flattering appearance. This operation involves incisions similar to those of a breast reduction. These scars circle the nipple and go down from the nipple to the fold under the breast.
The breast tissue is raised on the chest wall to give a more flattering shape.
Gynaecomastia is enlargement of the male breast. Treatment is provided by liposuction to remove the fat in a fatty breast. However, in most situations, male breast tissue is not amenable to removal in this way and needs to be removed by a surgical operation called ˜subcutaneous mastectomy.
A facelift is a surgical procedure to tighten the tissues of the face and neck to achieve an enhanced, often more youthful appearance. The facelift operation uses concealed incisions within the hair and around the ear
Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) one of Dr Jenkins favourite operations may be used to change the appearance of the nose and, sometimes, to improve breathing. Commonly a large bump on the bridge line of the nose is considered unflattering. Sometimes the nasal tip is bulbous and prominent, or the nose is just too big within the balance of facial features. By excision of excessive tissues, including the cartilage in the tip and part of the bony nasal hump, the operation of reduction rhinoplasty produces a more flattering appearance of the nose.
A blepharoplasty, or eyelid reduction, is an operation which improves the appearance of the upper or lower eyelids by the removal and tightening of skin, muscle and fat. The prominent bags, particularly in the lower eyelid and sometimes in the corner of the eye in the upper lid, are removed. Wrinkles are tightened and excess skin removed to open the eyes and give a more flattering appearance.
Scar Revision Surgery
The scars of previous surgery can be improved by meticulous repair with re-orientation of scars within normal skin crease lines rather than across skin crease lines. This usually makes the scar less obvious in the longer term.

A lipoma is a benign, fatty lump under the skin. Many of these are asymptomatic and do not cause patients significant problems. On the other hand they may increase in size and, if this occurs, then they are best removed. Lipomas usually do undergo a slow enlargement over time
A chin implant may be inserted to strengthen the facial profile. Some patients present with what is commonly described as a ˜weak chin. What this means is that the prominence of the chin point is usually inadequate and needs to protrude more to give a nice balance to the facial profile. A chin implant is commonly made of solid silicone (and other materials)

A prominent ear repair is performed by making a cut behind the ear and lifting the skin off the ear to allow reshaping of the ˜gristle (cartilage) of the ear which is shaped to give a more flattering appearance with the ears closer to the side of the head. The scar behind the ear is inconspicuous. A bandage is necessary for a week following the surgery. Bruising lasts up to two weeks.
